Update on SAM and MAMA KITTY!! SEE PICTURES!! FOSTERS NEEDED AND DONATIONS STILL NEEDED TOWARDS VETTING AND SURGERY!

MAMA KITTY AND BABY KITTY
AND
HANDSOME SAM!!!

Sam is a cat we pulled from the shelter a few weeks ago who was brought into the shelter by a good Samaritan who saw him get run over by a car. He had broken his pelvis in a few places and required surgery.
Sam had his surgery last Thursday and is recovering nicely at my vets. He is such a trooper and sooo handsome! He will need to be cage rested for the next few weeks and then in a quiet place with not a lot of cats where he can slowly start to get his strength back. If you know anyone who can foster him, please let me know!! contact me at cdzacko@gmail.com

See more pictures of SAM below!!

Sam is very curious!

Sam is stretching!

Sweet Mama Kitty and Baby Kitty

Mama Kitty and her baby were rescued last week. Mama had gotten attacked by a dog and lost all mobility in her hind legs. The shelter vet tech called me to rescue her because after 10 days sitting in the the shelter with her baby, she was not getting any better and he did not want to put her down because of her baby. I brought her to my vet and he confirmed that she had a severely severed spine that might not ever be able to get repaired. In addition, because she lost mobility in her back side, she was unable to go to the bathroom on her own and over the 10 days in the shelter she developed a urinary tract infection. She is on antibiotics now for the UTI and is slowly learning how to manage around...all that and having the comfort of her little baby beside her.

I visited with Mama Kitty and her sweet sweet baby last night (its a boy by the way)...they put tears in my eyes...they are so so sweet together. Mama has gotten more agile but is still unable to move her back legs and needs assistance in expressing her bladder. I have included a very inspiring you tube about a couple who takes care of their paralyzed cat who lost mobility in his legs after falling out of a window. They express his bladder 3 times a day and compare it to the time it takes walking a dog - in fact less time! If you have some time, please see below:

Mama went to a surgeon today who confirmed that she may never be able to use her hind legs again and might always need help with going to the bathroom, but you can never tell the future. We are desperately looking for someone very special to care for Mama kitty. After seeing the you tube, I do not want to send her to a sanctuary where she will not get a lot of attention. She is waaayy to special and so so sweet.

If you can help foster or know someone who can. please let me know. cdzacko@gmail.com. Please see her and her baby's adorable pictures below. Videos to follow of how she gets along in future posts!
