KILLING AFTER ONLY 2 WEEKS!!!! ONE DEAD, THESE TWO NEED OUT - 4 month kitten "STAR" and "CHRISTY" NEED OUT ASAP!!!

There were 3 Young cats I wanted to network this week, but I just called and one of them was put to sleep this morning after only being in the shelter for 2 weeks - A4029380.

She was only 5 months old, healthy as can be and so adorable. On Saturday she was SO playful and wanted out of her cage in the worst way - she had SO MUCH LOVE TO GIVE :( I am so so sad...I have included her picture so you could see how beautifull she was :( Please help me save the 2 that are left in her honor - "STAR" AND "CHRISTY"

VOLUNTEER FAVORITES!!!
PLEASE CROSS POST!
Pictures attached.

You can also notify me if you can donate towards their pull and transport fees (cdzacko@gmail.com).

Christy (Impound # A4026444) Christy came in with Star (below) as a stray on 8/29. She is just 4 months old and a very playful, sweet kitty with so much love to give. She ADORES attention and wants so much to be out of her cage and play!

Star (Impound # A4026443) We think Star is about 1 year old...she is a beautiful tabby mix with a gorgeous fuzzy tail. Like Christy, she is so so sweet and loving. She would make the perfect companion and gets along well with other cats.

If you can help either Christy or Star, please go down to the Carson Shelter and RESCUE THEM before they are euthanized for space. You can also call the shelter and put an Interested Party "IP" on them - 310-523-9566

Their adoption fee for a rescue is only $25 and non rescue is $30!

There is also a yound mom Carrie that Needs out...

Carrie is one of the prettiest moms I have seen at the shelter all year. Her coat is such a vibrant orange and she has the best personlity - just darling. She came in to the shelter on Sept 18th and had her litter of 6 the same day. All her babies are super adopbatobe (3 orange tabbies, 2 gray tabbies and one orange/white) but need to get out soon before they end up with URI.

Carrie is a super mommy to her babies. She is very friendly and gives tons of Puuurrr, Puurrrs, Puuurrrrs....

Impound Number is A4035147.

If you can foster her or donate towards her pull fees and transport, please contact me at cdzacko@gmail.com or 310-721-5802. Pulls fees will be $175 for the mom and litter ($25/piece).

You can call their fan club president Cyndi if you have any questions. Her number is 310-721-5802 and her email is cdzacko@gmail.com

$450 Donations Needed for Paralyzed Mama Kitty's Wheel Cart

$450 Donations needed for Sweet Mama Kitty's wheel cart...See her story below and find out how to donate. Thank you so much for your ongoing support!

Sweet Mama Kitty and Baby Kitty

Mama Kitty and her baby were rescued 4 weeks ago from the Carson Shelter. Mama had gotten attacked by a dog and lost all mobility in her hind legs. The shelter vet tech called me to rescue her because after 10 days sitting in the the shelter with her baby, she was not getting any better and he did not want to put her down because of her baby. I brought her to my vet and he confirmed that she had a severely severed spine that might not ever be able to get repaired. In addition, because she lost mobility in her back side, she was unable to go to the bathroom on her own and over the 10 days in the shelter she developed a urinary tract infection. She is on antibiotics now for the UTI and is slowly learning how to manage around...all that and having the comfort of her little baby beside her.

Mama has gotten more agile but is still unable to move her back legs and needs assistance in expressing her bladder a few times a day. Mama went to a surgeon who also confirmed that she may never be able to use her hind legs again and might always need help with going to the bathroom, but you can never tell the future. We are desperately looking for someone very special to care for Mama kitty and also donations towards getting a wheel cart for her.

If you can help foster or donate towards her care and wheel cart please email me at cdzacko@gmail.com and see below on ways to donate. Pictures also below :)

Update on SAM and MAMA KITTY!! SEE PICTURES!! FOSTERS NEEDED AND DONATIONS STILL NEEDED TOWARDS VETTING AND SURGERY!

MAMA KITTY AND BABY KITTY
AND
HANDSOME SAM!!!

Sam is a cat we pulled from the shelter a few weeks ago who was brought into the shelter by a good Samaritan who saw him get run over by a car. He had broken his pelvis in a few places and required surgery.
Sam had his surgery last Thursday and is recovering nicely at my vets. He is such a trooper and sooo handsome! He will need to be cage rested for the next few weeks and then in a quiet place with not a lot of cats where he can slowly start to get his strength back. If you know anyone who can foster him, please let me know!! contact me at cdzacko@gmail.com

See more pictures of SAM below!!

Sam is very curious!

Sam is stretching!

Sweet Mama Kitty and Baby Kitty

Mama Kitty and her baby were rescued last week. She is on antibiotics now for the UTI and is slowly learning how to manage around...all that and having the comfort of her little baby beside her.

I visited with Mama Kitty and her sweet sweet baby last night (its a boy by the way)...they put tears in my eyes...they are so so sweet together. Mama has gotten more agile but is still unable to move her back legs and needs assistance in expressing her bladder. I have included a very inspiring you tube about a couple who takes care of their paralyzed cat who lost mobility in his legs after falling out of a window. They express his bladder 3 times a day and compare it to the time it takes walking a dog - in fact less time! If you have some time, please see below:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdIBtw8_7No&feature=channel_page

Mama went to a surgeon today who confirmed that she may never be able to use her hind legs again and might always need help with going to the bathroom, but you can never tell the future. We are desperately looking for someone very special to care for Mama kitty. After seeing the you tube, I do not want to send her to a sanctuary where she will not get a lot of attention. She is waaayy to special and so so sweet.

If you can help foster or know someone who can. please let me know. cdzacko@gmail.com. Please see her and her baby's adorable pictures below. Videos to follow of how she gets along in future posts!

Mama is getting more agile by the day, sitting up

Mama loves to be held!

Kitty is calm, loving, and happy to just be by your side. We called her name and she just sat up and waited to be petted. UPDATE on SAM, SINATRA, and MAMA KITTY!!

Hi All...

I wanted to update everyone on Sam, Sinatra and Mama Kitty...

I will start with some sad news first...Sinatra passed away last Friday evening. I have been too sad to talk about it, but he put up an EXTREMELY tough fight. He had beat the panleuk, but the pneumonia was just too much :( Thank you all so much for your prayers and financial support for this sweet, sweet kitty. I am still heartbroken and a little in disbelief he did not make it :( I know he has gone on to a happier place and at least he didn't die in the cold shelter where no one cared. We gave him a chance.

Sam, sweet Sam...he had his surgery last Thursday evening for his pelvis. It went extremely well and he is recovering at the vets now. We are still looking for donations to cover his vetting so please see below if you can help. We are also looking for a foster for Sam so we can find him a forever home. The vet and his staff have fallen in love with Sam and say he is the COOLEST cat they have had in a while :) He will need rest for about 5 more weeks so a place with not too many cats will be ideal.

Mama Kitty and Baby Kitty...We rescued this little family last week...The shelter RVT called me to ask me if I could rescue them. He told me it was a sweet mom cat and her 5 week old kitten that were brought into the shelter 10 days ago after they were "attacked by a dog." The RVT said that they have been monitoring her and the kitten in the clinic and the kitten seems to have recovered fine but the mom still can't seem to walk on her leg...So I went ahead and pulled her and her kitten and took her to my vet.

My vet informed me that the mom cat has a severely severed spine...I am so upset because the shelter let the cat sit there for 10 days and did nothing but give her antibiotics. The vet was able to tell that something was wrong with the spine before even taking xrays. The vet says the chances of her walking again are extremely slim. She has a urinary tract infection since she was unable to output on her own while at the shelter and she needs to be assisted with that at least twice a day. She is a darling little kitty and so is her kitten. We are taking her to a surgeon on Friday for a second opinion and then possibly a neurologist...but most likely she will just need to find a home that accepts her for the way she is and can help her go to the bathroom 2 or 3 times a day...just like taking a dog fro a walk :) I have included an inspiring youtube video of a cat that was paralyzed after falling out of a window...please take a look and see how promising mama kitty's life can be...and if any one can foster her and her kitten or adopt, PLEASE LET ME KNOW! I do not want to euthanize this darling...she is waaaaayy to special and has such potential!!

I also need funding for her desperately for all her exams and consults.

Also, we met with the surgeon yesterday for SAM! They will be operating on SAM TODAY!!! We still need $500 towards his vetting so please donate if you can help!!

NOW there are 2 more kitties that need RESCUE!!! PLEASE SEE THE STORY BELOW!!

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE help me rescue this ADORABLE FAMILY!!!!! please see their SWEET PICTURE ATTACHED!!

The Head Vet Tech called me this morning to see if I can help this VERY SWEET MOM and her 5 Week Old Kitten. They were brought into the shelter on August 15th after they were attacked by a dog. The kitten seems to have recovered fine. The mom is recovering, but still can't seem to walk on her leg. I would love to bring it to a vet or a RESCUE to help the mom heal. The vet tech assured me that they have been in the shelter's sterile clinic since they came so there chance of exposure to viruses in the general area is MINIMAL and they seem fine otherwise (no URI, etc).

If you can help me RESCUE THIS FAMILY, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!! I DON"T EVEN HAVE ROOM ON A CREDIT CARD TO FUND THESE GUYS :(

SAM AND SINATRA NEED DONATIONS URGENTLY!!!

We rescued both Sam and Sinatra...I visited with Sam yesterday and wow, what a cool cat...he is such Love bug considering what we have been through...We were blessed to get a $100 donation for Sam's pelvis surgery (THANK YOU ANDREW) but still need $900 more - can you help SAM get back to walking again???

Also, SINATRA!!!! We also saved him, but he was diagnosed with PANLEUK!!! Can you believe our luck? That is the Carson Shelter for you...These cats need desperate help. Despite having no funds, we had to take a chance on him...Panleuk is a horrible virus that eats away at the intestines. Most Kittens do not survive, but because Sinatra is older and had one vaccine against this virus, we are hopeful he will pull through - but we DESPERATELY NEED FUNDING TO HELP HIM!! He has been in the hospital for 3 days and is stable...his vet bill is $900 thus far so we desperately need help going forward -at the end it will be around $1400...His picture is above and he is a fighter...I believe he will make it through!! PLEASE, CAN YOU HELP WITH HIS VETTING???

If you can help with vetting of either Sam or Sinatra, please see below for payment options:

$500 NEEDED to SAVE SAM!!!!

Hi -

My name is SAM. I am a loving cat named after the very caring vet tech Sam at the Carson Shelter who pleaded with the Carson Volunteers to get me out of the shelter and on the road to recovery in a nice warm home. I was brought in to the shelter on August 12th after a good Samaritan found me on the road after I was hit by a car. My leg was all busted up and they thought they would have to amputate it as it looked really bad and was very painful. As he vet did the surgery on me the next day, he thought he would be able to save my leg and he repaired it. I am recovering now and my health is improving but I need out of the shelter ASAP so I can be in an environment that is better for me to get better. There are too many diseases and viruses at the shelter and I am afraid that when my immune system is down, things could get bad if I am not rescued SOON. Can you be my Guardian Angel??? I am very calm and sweet considering what I have been through. I am also VERY HANDSOME :)

If you can't save me/foster me, can you consider giving money towards boarding me at a vet until I get better? If you can help that way, please see below to get information on how to donate. They estimate I need $500 to properly vet me and board me until I am well enough to find my forever home!

If you can help with my vetting, please see below for payment options:

HELP SAVE THE CARSON CATS!!!

Welcome to the SAVE THE CARSON CATS BLOGSPOT!!

Dedicated to Saving Animals out of one of Los Angeles' Highest Kill Shelters! We need Fosters, Homes and Donations to continue to Rescue these animals out of the most horrific places they could possibly end up :( Most don't come put of alive.

For the past year, I have worked with the volunteers of one of Los Angeles's highest Kill Animal Shelters to help rescue animals from the most God-awful place you can imagine.

We have rescued over 200 cats and I personally have spent thousands of dollars in vet bills and pull fees to help these animals. A third of the cats die before they even leave the vets office because of the diseases that come out of the shelter. These are the cheap ones. Another quarter of these cats live in the hospital for 2 weeks before being able to survive in a home. The time in the hospital generally run about $500 per cat.

I am not independently wealthy and work hard in a corporate job to fund this venture....but it is not enough income to keep going to save these animals.

I have partnered with the wonderful non-profit Stray Cat Alliance to raise money to continue to help these animals. If you can donate to help these animals, ANY AMOUNT will be appreciated. In your donation, please specify in the memo or comments section of your check or online "CARSON CATS" so that they know to allocate the money towards my cause.
